This month we’ll be making Strawberry Orange White Wine Sangria, Spicy Chipotle and Pineapple Martinis, and Long Island Ice Tea. Strawberry Orange White Wine Sangria
- 2 cups Strawberries sliced
- 1 Orange sliced
- 1 cup Basil loosely packed
- 2 Lime sliced
- 1 Bottle Chardonnay or other dry, crispy white wine
- ½ cup Tequila
- 1/2 cup Brandy
- 1 Bottle Sparkling Wine (Prosecco, Cava or Champagne)
Leave the peels on while slicing the oranges and lime. Add the fruits, lime and basil to a pitcher. Pour tequila, brandy, and wine over the fruits and give it a stir. Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours or preferably overnight. The taste will intensify and get better as it sits in the fridge. When you are ready to serve, pour in the sparkling wine. Serve immediately.
Spicy Chipotle Pineapple Martini
- 2 oz. vodka infused with jalapeño pepper
- 1 oz. chipotle pineapple syrup (monin brand) or liqueur (Boss brand)
- 1 oz. pineapple juice
- 1/2 oz. simple syrup
- 6-8 mint leaves
To make jalapeño infused vodka, slice 3-4 jalapeno peppers and soak up to 3 days in a bottle of vodka. Strain the peppers from the vodka and voila!
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all ingredients but reserve a mint leaf for garnish. Shake vigorously. Double strain into a martini glass. Garnish with remaining mint leaf.
Long Island Ice Tea
- 1/2 oz. vodka
- 1/2 oz. gin
- 1/2 oz. white rum
- 1/2 oz. silver tequila
- 1/2 oz. Cointreau
- 3/4 oz. lemon juice
- 2 tsp. simple syrup
- 3/4 oz. Mexican Coke
Shake ingredients (except Mexican Coke), then strain into a Collins glass over crushed ice. Top with Coke and garnish with a lemon twist.
