As a Professor and Department Chair of Photography and Digital Arts at SPC for more than 33 years, Gilmore has shaped generations of young artists. For Gilmore, photography is more than a mode of creative expression; it is a conduit for exchange, growth, and recontextualization of knowledge.

Recontextualizing the Atlas: Five Decades of Barton Gilmore will be on view from August 24th-December 15, 2024.
