School Programs

As a part of St. Petersburg College, the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is proud of our educational opportunities and school programs for students of all ages.

K-12 Gallery Tours and Art Activities

K-12 teachers may schedule free guided tours of LRMA and add a specially-designed hands-on art activity in an SPC art studio at a cost of $2 per student. Groups are welcome to have lunch on the campus grounds.

Services for SPC Faculty & Students

Gallery Tours - The museum welcomes visits by SPC faculty and their students and offers them free admission. On a pre-arranged basis, instructors may schedule general tours of the galleries; request specialized docent tours that align with class curricula; conduct self-guided tours; and use the Challenge of Modern Art Interactive Gallery as a classroom. Contact the Education Department to make arrangements for your visit at (727) 712-5220.

Academic Assistance - Students who need help with arts and humanities assignments are encouraged to contact the LRMA Education Department at (727) 712-5220 and plan a meeting with a Weekday Gallery Guide. These men and women are trained docents (tour guides) who volunteer their time between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to welcome and assist students and other visitors.

Students may also benefit from browsing through Guide to the Galleries for SPC Students. This binder is available from the Visitor Services Desk for use in the galleries and includes information about current exhibitions, instructions for citing artwork, and how to understand modern and contemporary art.
