Throughout his career, Abraham Rattner (1893–1978) was driven by a relentless desire to create. Rarely without his art making materials, Rattner often chose watercolor for its immediacy and ease of use, appreciating especially how its luminous quality captured the essence of light. This exhibition highlights a selection of Rattner’s early watercolors, vividly documenting his extensive travels throughout France during the 1920s and 1930s, and beyond.
