Herb Snitzer: In the Present

February 18 – June 25, 2023

Lothar and Mildred Uhl Works on Paper Gallery

Herb Snitzer (American, 1932-2022) spent a lifetime behind the lens, capturing the joys and struggles of everyday life, the intimate moments of Jazz greats, and decades of community activism. An artist and photojournalist since the 1950s, Snitzer’s work has been published nationally in magazines such as Life and the New York Times Magazine and collected by major museums. Since 1992, Snitzer has been a fixture in the Tampa Bay arts scene. On December 31, 2022, we lost a great friend and champion of the community. The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art presents this exhibition to honor the memory of Herb Snitzer.
