WOMAN-MADE: From the Collection celebrates the power of the female voice during the 100th anniversary of the 19thAmendment to the U.S. Constitution granting women the equal right to vote. This selection highlights internationally-known women printmakers and sculptors from the LRMA collection, including Miriam Schapiro, Lesley Dill, Alison Saar, Susan Gott and many others. They explore the physical nature of art-making through their chosen medium using plasma cutters, blow torches, molten glass, carving tools and printing presses. Competing in the male-dominated movements in contemporary art, each artist is a force to be reckoned with and has paved the way for generations of women artists to follow.
